Cashback is usually calculated by applying the eligible cashback rate to a qualifying transaction. However, many card offers have conditions such as monthly cashback caps, minimum transaction amounts, excluded categories or merchant restrictions.
If a cashback cap applies, the actual cashback cannot exceed that cap.
Finally, applicable fees and taxes can be deducted from the cashback benefit to estimate the net savings.
Suppose you spend ₹10,000 on a card offering 5% cashback with a maximum cashback cap of ₹1,000.
If you spend ₹30,000 at 5% cashback, the gross cashback would be ₹1,500. If the card has a ₹1,000 cashback cap, you would receive only ₹1,000.
₹1,000 cashback on a ₹30,000 purchase.
A cashback calculator estimates the cashback you may receive from a credit card transaction based on the cashback rate and applicable offer conditions.
A cashback cap is the maximum cashback that a card issuer allows under a particular offer or category during the applicable period.
Your effective cashback rate can be lower than the advertised rate when the transaction reaches the cashback cap or when fees reduce your net benefit.
If the card's offer requires a minimum transaction amount and your purchase is below that threshold, this calculator assumes no cashback is earned.
Not necessarily. Card issuers may exclude certain transactions, merchants, categories or payment methods. Always check the specific card's terms and conditions.
It is an estimate. Actual cashback may vary based on issuer rules, eligible transactions, rounding, caps, exclusions, statement cycles and other card-specific conditions.
